To be held in Vietnam from March 16th to March 24th, 2024, this is going to be our 10th Global North Point-Loreto Reunion. This fire for the first Global Reunion held in 2003 in Hua Hin, Thailand that was lit by Joan Sarasin (nee Windsor), Loreto ’61 and Dan Windsor NP ’64 continues unabated!
The response when Save The Date was circulated was stupendous. Within two weeks 90 sign-ups were received. 52 and 38 accompanying persons. A record! The final confirmed, paid-up attendee list is 68. Check the list here.
March 01, 2024 – The Registration for this Reunion is now CLOSED. For questions, email ashok@asmara.com.
Vietnam local captures
We all share a common perspective, want to re-connect and have a good time!
1. 8-night Hotel accommodations including daily breakfast in 5-Star hotels in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City
2. Airport arrival transfers to hotel
3. Airport departure transfers from hotel to airport
4. Coach transportation for all local tours
5. All sightseeing, visits and domestic trips
6. Nine memorable meals
7. Seaside excursions, historical stops, music, dancing

AND…greeters at airport, tour guides in each coach, welcome package, program booklet, name badges, luggage handling, private express hotel check-in…. these and more are only the tangibles. You figure out the intangibles such as meeting up and renewing ties with your far-flung boarding school friends! (priceless!)
Get ready for our traditional silent auction, like the ones we have always done in past reunions. ITS ON!
We will hold a silent auction during one of our dinners so please bring along any memorabilia, artifacts, antiques, curios, handicrafts, keepsakes, treasures, heirlooms, collections or just plain ole ornery gifts that you want to donate for the auction. You don’t have to, only if you want to. The proceeds as usual shall go to the school’s various projects.
The items up for auction will be displayed on tables. There will be a bid sheet that will describe your item. Interested bidders saunter around the room and write in their bids. Watch the outbidders hovering around.
At closing time the written bids then convert up to a verbal auction.
It’s so much fun!
Considerations have been taken into account. Many of us are in our 60’s to 80’s. The pace is measured.
CURRENCY:
If you are bringing US dollars or foreign currency notes and want to exchange them into Vietnamese Dong during
your stay, please ensure that your notes are new, unfolded, unmarked (no writing) and dated year of 2003 and
after. However, credit cards are accepted almost everywhere.
VISA:
It is best to apply for e-Visa online. The procedure is straightforward and usually takes about 2-3 working days to get the e-Visa approved. However this is not guaranteed. There have been cases of passengers waiting about 10-15 days for visa approval. Its advisable to apply for yur e-visa right after you have booked your flight. The cost is $25. The link to the official government’s site is here.
PASSPORT:
Your passport should be valid for more than six months from the date of departure from Vietnam.
LUGGAGE:
Luggage weight allowance on our two internal air transfers on Vietnam Airlines is 23 kgs. per passenger. If you are carrying more luggage, the extra charge is approximately $20 per 23 kgs. luggage piece.
Many have asked if it is ok for children, grandchildren, family members and friends to join the reunion. Of course it’s more than alright. As in past reunions bonds have formed between the growing North Point-Loreto community and many dear ones that are now so familiar to us. In fact there are even a few friends/family that have achieved Honorary status because of the many reunions they have attended with us. The categories that will be displayed on your name badges are:
